Pray, pray, pray! Continue to pray that the Lord works through each of the missionaries to make an impact in the lives of those being served. Pray that the ones doing the serving grow in their relationship with Jesus.
Give, give, give! The expense to go to Uganda is roughly $2,000 per person. This includes the travel costs, food and housing expenses, the purchase of Bibles for the villagers, the hiring of two drivers to transport the team, and gifts for our hosts. Your contributions help the team to make Christ known in the world. Participate in our fundraisers. Without your support, this would not be possible!
Paint and Pour Fundraiser
You are invited to attend a Pain and Pour event on Friday, May 18th, at 7PM at Zion. This event includes all the materials to create a painting masterpiece, drinks, hors d’oeuvres, exciting give-a-ways, a small silent auction and other surprises. The cost is $35 per person or $50 per couple. All ages are invited to join in the fun! Sign-up at the Welcome Desk or call the office.
If you would like to make a donation to the silent auction, let Pastor Vicky know at firstname.lastname@example.org
Keep an eye out for the Giving Tree in the church lobby. Each leaf has a specific need for the Uganda trip on it. If you can help with that need, grab that leaf and return it with your donation by June 2.
Cover that church!
Over the past year, Zion has been supporting a Ugandan missionary, Elia Musasizi, with a gift of $100 per month. Elia has done incredible things with this small contribution. His latest undertaking had him venture into a village that practiced witchcraft. He introduced the people to Jesus and gathered a group of 12 people to train them as pastors. This past month he broke ground for a new church building in this village! The building will need a roof, which will cost $1,300. If you would like to make this dream come true, please contact Pastor Vicky Lovell at email@example.com.
No Empty Hands
Zion has wonderful new bins labeled “No Empty Hands” where donations may be placed for the various agencies that Zion assists. These are located on the left side of the entrance to the sanctuary from the Welcome Center. The baskets on top may be used for larger donations. These agencies welcome non-perishable food, personal care, and baby care donations.
Specific food suggestions include: Pasta and pasta sauce, Hearty soups, Canned tuna and chicken, Peanut butter and other nut and seed butters, Brown rice and Breakfast cereal. Please be sure to check expiration dates!
Thank you for your donations to this important ministry. Emmanuel Lutheran and Hope Clinic distribute Zion’s donations to those in need.
