Daily Devotion Friday August 19, 2005
This week's devotions are written by members of our Tanzanian Mission team
(plus a few supporters) which is currently in Tanzania and will return on
August 22nd. We pray for their safety as they do God's work in a new and
exciting place! Todays "devoter" is missionary, Vicki Walda.
Matthew 12:18-21
"Here is my servant, whom I have chosen, my beloved, with whom my soul is
well pleased. I will put my Spirit upon him, and he will proclaim justice
to the Gentiles. He will not wrangle or cry aloud, nor will anyone hear his
voice in the streets. He will not break a bruised reed or quench a
smoldering wick until he brings justice to victory. And in his name the
Gentiles will hope."
The prophesy of Isaiah tells of the coming of the Messiah. This is the way
Jesus lived his life. He walked among the people, especially the sick, the
poor, the despised. He touched people in a gentle way, healing and giving
comfort. As Christians, we have been touched and are being led by Spirit.
Zion is following the example of Jesus and walking among all peoples and
nations, to share the word of God and the life of Jesus, through the mission
group.
Thank you for the opportunity to go on this journey. Bless us as we walk in
Tanzania among your people that we may return safely home to our families.
In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
