Daily Devotion Tuesday August 30, 2005

This week's devotions are written by Kelsay Ludwig and are based upon
biblical and Christian references in contemporary music.

"A Living Prayer" Alison Krauss

In this world I walk alone

With no place to call my home

But there is one who holds my hand

The rugged road through barren lands

The way is dark the road is steep

But he's become my eyes to see.

The strength to climb my grief's to bear

The Savior lives inside me there.

Thought

No place to call home? How vivid and painful this lament was when I turned
on the T.V. this morning. The "wrath of Katrina" as it is called, has
devastated our country. Thousands of people have no place to call home.
These moments of despair, these "bad things" that happen to good people; how
do we understand? How do we cope? Who do we turn to? Where is God?

Rescue and aid is working as we speak, to assist the broken, the tired, the
weak. This is where we see God.as he lives inside us as we help. As we
turn our minds away from war, from hatred, from prejudice and look to
provide for the basic human needs of our neighbors. When Christ "becomes
our eyes to see" we see what we have been given, how we have been blessed,
and how we can become a blessing.

Take my life and let me be

A living Prayer my God to thee.
