This week’s devotions are being written by Karen Ludwig: who is very
thankful for the opportunity to “Think on Thanks”   The vehicle for the
thinking is the hymn: “Now Thank We All Our God”, a favorite of mine through
many years!

 

VERSE 2

O may this bounteous God Through all our life be near us,

With ever joyful hearts And blessed peace to cheer us;

And keep us in His grace, And guide us when perplexed, 

And free us from all ills In this world and the next.

 

Thought

 

God is our “cheerleader” along life’s way—He knows, by the experience of His
Son, that life is TOUGH, CHALLENGING, SAD, PAINFUL, and FEARFUL at times.
God’s cheerleading is defined as guiding us through the whitewater rapids of
life, quarterbacking when we are at 3rd down, 19 yards to go, saying “You
can do it! Go out for my pass, you will catch the ball!” being a part of our
crew and rowing with us to the finish line. He is a participant with us, not
a distant observer. Because of his presence, we are set free from the power
evil can have over us-we are not beaten down but trust in the peace that
passes all understanding. 

 

Pray for God’s presence in your life, give thanks for God’s peace in your
life.
