Thursday November 24, 2005

This week’s devotions are being written by Karen Ludwig: who is very
thankful for the opportunity to “Think on Thanks” The vehicle for the
thinking is the hymn: “Now Thank We All Our God”, a favorite of mine through
many years!

VERSE 3

All praise and thanks to God The Father now be given,

The Son, and Him who reigns With them in highest heaven

The one eternal God, Whom earth and heaven adore;

For thus it was, is now, And shall be evermore.

Thought

It is about the power of the Trinity- this verse. I have always liked
“Trinitarian” theology.

I like having a God who is a Creator God-there is so much about creation
that is exquisite in my opinion—think about the creative presence of God,
name it, observe it, relish it and give thanks!!!!!!

I like having a God who became flesh and walked on this earth to redeem me
from my sins, forgives them, cleans my dirty laundry—I need that “feature”
of God-think about what you need to be forgiven for, your dirty laundry and
give thanks that God’s Son Jesus redeemed you!!!!

I like having a God who is a Sanctifier—someone who continues to work
holiness in the least of us, drawing us to a life of discipleship--because I
keep straying—think about how you stray from holiness and God keeps
sanctifying you—and give THANKS for that.

Yep, I do like the Trinity—I need the Trinity-I give thanks for the
Trinity—How about you!!!!

Give thanks for all those gathered together in your presence today—for they
are a direct reflection of the creative power of that Trinitarian God!
