Daily Devotions Thursday, April 6, 2006

The Daily Devotions this week are written by Karen Ludwig. During the season
of Lent, the theme of Zion's Wednesday services (5 & 7pm) is based upon our
congregational set of values. Those values flow from the person and name of
Jesus (Justice, Energy to witness, Spiritual maturity, Understanding the
radical nature of Grace, Service to those in need). This week we explore
Service to those in need.

Micah 6:8

He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the Lord require of
you

but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

Thought

How do we Walk humbly with your God-?

Did your mom ever tell you, "Be careful who you associate(hang out,
fraternize, socialize) with?

She did that because a compromised reputation, as we have seen this week
again, with certain political figures, can make you ineffective and hurt
more than just you.

Our text tell us who we should be walking with -that is God, the one who
sent his son to "hang on the cross"-not to save some of us but all who call
upon his name.

Powerful stuff- as we come closer to the end of Lent, we should be clearly
discerning how our walk with Jesus should be playing out-

Are we walking with God ?

How is our walk?

Is it humble?

Are we keeping on the right path?

How are we reaching out in new ways to serve others?

Our prayer:

Just a closer walk with Thee, Grant it, Jesus, is my plea,

Daily walking close to Thee, Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.
