Daily Devotion Thursday December 14, 2006
The Daily Devotions for the next three weeks pastor Ludwig will focus on
each word of the phrase, Jesus Is Coming. This week we look at IS.
John 14:5-6
Thomas said to him, "Lord, we do not know where you are going; how can we
know the way?" Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the
life;
Jesus is the Way
There are some TV commercials that are just downright aggravating. If you
have seen any of the Tom-Tom GPS car navigation commercials you know exactly
what I mean. It is perhaps second only to the Burger King commercials.
Advertising through annoyance I assume has become as effective as negative
political ads. God help us!
In the Tom-Tom commercials we are told that a Tom-Tom is the way to never
get lost, always be on time, and actually enjoy city driving. I have a
cheaper and easier solution, let someone else drive.
John tells us that Jesus claims to be the way to get from "here to there."
He is the way from deception and illusion to truth. He is the way from death
to life. He is the way. Wherever life takes you today, Jesus-Jesus is the
way. He is with you.
