Daily Devotions Tuesday October 10, 2006
The devotions this week are written by Karen Ludwig. The devotions direct
your thoughts to the theme of walking: God walking with us, our walking with
God.
God walks among us:
Leviticus 26:11-13
"I will place my dwelling in your midst, and I shall not abhor you. And I
will walk among you, and will be your God, and you shall be my people. I am
the LORD your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be their
slaves no more."
What great comfort can be found in these words. People who think God is "far
off" need to trust in the words that God walks among us. He didn't move into
the gated mansion on 20 acres accessible only if you have an appointment and
then through a series of contacts with administrative staff. No, he lives in
our subdivision, our mobile home community, our condo association, our
apartment building, our dorm, our senior's living community.
Knowing that he lives among us should give us strength, encouragement,
assurance. When someone walks with you, it makes the walking more enjoyable,
the time seems shorter, the distance not so great. Knowing that God has made
us his people, has freed us from slavery should give us hope that we may
walk each day truly with him at our side.
Walk this week knowing that God is walking next to you!
