Daily Devotions Friday October 13, 2006

The devotions this week are written by Karen Ludwig. The devotions direct
your thoughts to the theme of walking: God walking with us, our walking with
God. 

 

Time to walk the walk-

Deuteronomy 13:4

"You shall walk after the LORD your God and fear him, and keep his
commandments and obey his voice, and you shall serve him and cleave to him."


 

We end this week with a directive-to walk after the Lord. I am reminded of
the little child who follows after his parent, trying to put his tiny foot
into the mark left by the hiking boot in the mud, the foot in the sand, the
boot print in the snow. Wanting to be "big like mommy or daddy".  When we
"walk after the Lord" we are like that little child, striving to be like our
God, strong and steady; powerful and passionate; servant and soul mate. God
gives us the commandments as a guide for our walk-like Map Quest. They can
reorient our direction when we stray or pulled off course. 

 

Hold this thought through the week end and return next week for how that
walk should look.
