Daily Devotions Monday October 16, 2006
The devotions this week are written by Karen Ludwig. The devotions direct
your thoughts to the theme of walking: God walking with us, our walking with
God.
Walking as a "grown up"
Proverbs 9:6 "Lay aside immaturity, and live, and walk in the way of
insight."
Proverbs 13:20 "Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion
of fools suffers harm."
We must graduate from the "kiddies' course" and walk the adult path of
insight; insight gained from being wise. We have to get off the miniature
golf course, take off the training wheels, select the trail with 'medium to
high' difficulty and take on the fullness of life God has in store for us.
But that isn't the walk we always want. We are lured away by foolish things,
things done by "fools" that lead to harm. I don't have to name them for
you-you know your own weakness. But-selecting wise companions, learning the
wisdom of your elders, your mentors, your spiritual leaders can enhance your
journey.
Wise up this week-review your walk to see which way you are traveling and
with whom you are traveling.
