Daily Devotions Wednesday October 18, 2006

The devotions this week are written by Karen Ludwig. The devotions direct
your thoughts to the theme of walking: God walking with us, our walking with
God. 

 

Walking in love-

2 John1:5b- 6

"let us love one another. And this is love, that we walk according to his
commandments;  this is the commandment just as you have heard it from the
beginning--you must walk in it."

 

Now we have specifics. Yesterday we talked about walking in the light. The
commandments illumine for us what we are to follow as a guide for "right
walking". Simply put, we are to love one another.

Love the other political party from the one I vote for?         Yes

Love the other team that my team is competing against?   Yes

Love the person who has wronged me and/or my family?   Yes

Love the person who does not attend church and says only hypocrites do?
Yes 

Love the neighbor who puts up a fence and keeps harassing me about how I
don't keep up my yard?  Yes

Love myself when I feel so inadequate to the tasks at hand?  Yes.

 

Love- one, two. three people. Because loving makes us Free people. Freed
from darkness and the hold it can have on us. 

 

Love well this week.
