Daily Devotions Thursday September 21, 2006
The devotions this week have been written by Carol Sue Brodbeck, Director of
Caring and Sharing Ministries at Zion.
As harvest season approaches, we are reminded how God enabled that little
seed that we planted last spring to develop miraculously into a plant; how
He caused the sun to shine and the heavens to pour life-giving rain so that
the plants would have what they needed to grow and yield their bounty.
Since God so freely gave everything that we see and have-even though we
don't deserve nor earned it-is it any wonder that he gave his only begotten
son that we might live?
Every good action and every perfect gift is from God. (James 1:17)
All things were made by him, and nothing was made without him. (John 1:3)
Lord, thank you for blessing us with the works of your creation that we see,
hear, and touch all around us each day. And thanks for all the good things
that you freely give us that we need, especially the gift of your most holy
and precious Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
