Zion's Daily Electronic Devotions for Tuesday June 26, 2007

"How can man understand God since he does not yet understand his own mind,
with which he endeavors to understand Him?" John Ruskin

As a teenager I remember a time when I was almost daily frustrated by my
mother. Confiding in my father that I just didn't understand her, he
replied, " You don't have to understand her to love her. Just never forget
that she would gladly give her life for you. What more do you need to know?"
My father understood that true love, like forgiveness, does not flow from
the mind, it comes from the heart.

So often we struggle to understand the mind of God instead of just basking
the sunshine of God's love. So often we wrestle with God's purpose instead
of simply seeking God's companionship. Today know that you have a God who
gives his life for you and loves you unconditionally. Rather than try to
psych God out today, just love God.

Isaiah 55:8-9 55:8

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says
the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways
higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."
